HSK Exam Information / HSK 考试介绍
The HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is China’s standardized Chinese proficiency test. It is widely used for university admission, scholarships and job applications.
Levels (HSK 3.0, 2021 standard)
- HSK 1 — 500 words: greetings, numbers, simple self-introduction
- HSK 2 — 1272 words: everyday conversations, basic travel
- HSK 3 — 2245 words: work and study topics, connected paragraphs
- HSK 4 — 3245 words: fluent conversation on broad topics
- HSK 5–6 — 4316 / 5456 words: reading Chinese media, academic Chinese
- HSK 7–9 — advanced: near-native precision for professional use
Exam format
Listening · Reading · Writing (writing starts at HSK 3). A speaking test (HSKK) can be taken separately.
